Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern access to bakvio.com and any Bakvio software or services made available by Bakvio, Inc., a Delaware corporation. By accessing or using them, you agree to these terms.
Eligibility and availability
You must be legally able to enter into these terms. The Windows installer is available from the Bakvio Download page. macOS builds labeled Pending are not yet available. Product availability may change as the product is developed and supported.
Authorized use
You may use Bakvio only with accounts, conversations, contacts, media, and group information that you own or are authorized to manage. You are responsible for complying with privacy, employment, communications, and record-retention laws.
Product limitations
Bakvio can preserve data that is available and successfully backed up. It cannot recover information that was never backed up, is no longer accessible, or is restricted by a third-party platform.
Local storage and security
You control the device and location where local backups and exports are stored. You are responsible for device security, access controls, encryption, backup copies, and the recipients of exported information.
Third-party platforms
Bakvio depends on data made available through third-party platforms and devices. Platform changes, account restrictions, unavailable media, or access loss may affect functionality. Bakvio is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc.
Intellectual property and limited license
Bakvio and its website content, software, branding, and documentation are owned by Bakvio, Inc. or its licensors. Subject to these terms, Bakvio grants authorized users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use materials and software made available to them for lawful internal purposes.
Acceptable use
You may not use Bakvio to gain unauthorized access, violate another person's rights, distribute malware, circumvent security controls, or conduct unlawful surveillance, marketing, or data collection.
Changes, suspension, and termination
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue access when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance, product changes, or misuse. Updated terms will display a revised effective date.
Availability and warranties
The website, documentation, and any software access are provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bakvio, Inc. disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bakvio, Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunity arising from use of or inability to use the website or software. Users are responsible for verifying important backups and maintaining appropriate additional copies.
Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any mandatory consumer rights, disputes shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and the parties consent to their jurisdiction.
General terms
If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement concerning the public website and any Bakvio access provided under them.
